The Language of Intuition
Today, we are talking intuition and signals of the body. Intuition is often painted as mystical or mysterious, something seemingly reserved for a chosen few.
The truth!? Intuition lives inside of you, inside all of us.
It literally lives in your brain and in your body. It’s not hiding. It’s been with you the whole time, waiting for you to slow down and listen.
It can be hard. We live in a culture that values logic and productivity above all else. That has its place and all, but it also teaches us to ignore the subtler ways our body speaks.
Overriding your innate signals leads to second-guessing, overthinking, and dismissing the quiet signals that guide us to your truth.
Have you ever experienced a time, a situation or experience where later you said, “I knew it. I should’ve listened to my gut.”
I think we’ve all had those moments, and one reason why I wanted to dive deeper into what intuition and soul connection actually is here on Wellness Within.
This month, let’s return to that place of inner knowing. Let’s remember the language of intuition.
Intuition, Fear, and Conditioning: Knowing the Difference
One of the most common questions I hear is: “How do I know if this is my intuition… or just fear?”
Here’s a key:
- Fear feels tight, frantic, urgent. It pushes you into reaction. Pressure lives here.
- Conditioning sounds like old voices: what you were taught to believe, the “shoulds.” Emotions may lead.
- Intuition feels different: clear, steady, body-based. Even if the message feels inconvenient, there’s usually a sense of peace underneath.
Think of intuition as the compass within.
Fear may shout.
Conditioning may echo.
Intuition often whispers.

How Intuition Shows Up in the Body
Your body is your first language. Before you had words, you had sensations. That’s why intuition so often speaks through the body:
- The gut | a drop in your stomach, a full-bodied “yes,” or a sudden clench.
- The heart | warmth, expansion, or the opposite: a closing-in.
- The skin | goosebumps, tingles, a sense of resonance.
- The breath | a deep sigh of relief or a sudden shallowness.
You don’t have to make it complicated, in fact, try your best not to. Simply notice.
A Simple Intuition Ritual
Here’s a practice you can use right now to reconnect with your body’s wisdom:
- Place one hand over your heart, one over your belly.
- Close your eyes and take a slow breath.
- Ask yourself: “Is this true for me right now?”
- Notice: does your body soften and open, or tighten and resist?
That is your intuition speaking. It is really that simple. You strengthen your knowing and your trust the more often you return.
Why This Matters Now
We’re in a season of deep transition – as a society, a planet, and as human beings.
These times naturally stir change, uncertainty, and choice points. The mind will want to plan everything, to grasp for certainty.
But the beauty of whole-body wellness is the knowing that your mind is just one part of your being. Your intuition will give you the next step, the truest step. Learning the language of intuition is learning how to trust yourself again.

Intuition is yours alone. Period. But it does strengthens in safe space around safe people.
When we gather, we reflect truth back to each other. Ritual gives us anchors to keep showing up. That’s why I’ve opened Inner Compass, a space to listen together, circle together, and find clarity through community.
