I want to talk about food! I kind of always want to talk about food. I love food. There is nothing better (in my opinion, of course) than a nourishing, home cooked meal.
We are what we eat. Food is our fuel. Food is our medicine. Our bodies are incredible, complex machines that crave deep care and compassion.
Nutrition serves as the foundation of good health,
how are you fueling your body?
Today, we’ll touch on the importance of clean eating, what are whole foods, and multiple ways to pave the way for a long, healthy life.
I’m excited to dive into it. Be sure you’re a monthly subscriber to you get the full articles, special discounts, and updates!

But first, WTF is going on!?
Did you know that artifical dyes in foods are under fresh scrutiny, especially as consumers become more conscious about what goes into their bodies?
A major food trend right now is the move away from artificial colorants, with many brands and restaurants opting for more natural alternatives.
One of the biggest culprits is Red 40, a synthetic food dye found in everything from candy to soft drinks.
While this dye has been deemed safe by the FDA, it’s gaining increasing attention due to potential links to hyperactivity in children, and a growing number of parents are choosing products without synthetic dyes.
I know of several accounts personally within my community whose children have extreme negative reactions to artificial colors and dyes.
The interesting twist? As the demand for clean and natural ingredients increases, companies are now experimenting with alternatives like beetroot powder, pomegranate, and even hibiscus to naturally tint food.

This trend is not just about what goes into our bodies but also about being more mindful of the environment, as these natural dyes are often less chemically processed and more sustainable.
YES. PLEASE.
So, next time you grab something brightly colored from the shelf, think twice about the impact of those artificial dyes – and if you’re looking to be more in tune with your wellness goals, try choosing snacks with natural ingredients and colorants, or making them at home!
Your body (and our beautiful planet) will thank you!
Take Action Toward Your Health:
Try DIY Snacks: Why not experiment with making your own vibrant, naturally colored snacks at home? A vibrant fruit like an apple or banana may just be what the body truly needs.
Try baking with ingredients like beetroot powder for rich red tones or blending fruit like strawberries or raspberries for a natural pop of color. Making more food at home, with whole, clean food ingredients, will make avoiding artificial dyes a bit easier!
Read Labels Carefully: Next time you’re at the grocery store, take a moment to check the ingredients list of your favorite snacks or drinks.
On our mission to authentic whole body healing, avoiding artificial anything is highly important. Look out for all artificial dyes but especially Red 40, and consider switching to brands that use natural colorants.
Small swaps can make a big difference over time!
I also found an interesting reference library of information over on The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). You may find it interesting, too!
I hope these simple practices in Wellness Within help guide and move you through 2025 with greater grace and ease. Let’s get into it!
