“We are a nation hungry for more joy: Because we’re starving from a lack of gratitude.” – Brene Brown

Living Gratitude | Grace & Compassion
We’ve learned that a regular gratitude practice can lower cortisol levels, the stress hormone, which contributes to reduced stress and anxiety.
Incorporating gratitude into your daily life has tons of incredible benefits, but can take some time, intentional practice, but most importantly, patience and grace.
Finding gratitude in every situation can also feel difficult sometimes. This time of the year especially (and honestly many others) bring up many triggers, past traumas, and memories that send us right back to our fearful, not-so-confident selves. Having the awareness, at all, that this may be true for you, is an excellent space to be in.
You must want to shift your perspective and way of doing things if you want real change in your life. When you notice emotions and feelings coming up in a certain situation – how can you maintain your appreciation and gratitude for the situation as opposed to spiraling into a shameful story?
Sometimes, the answer is to walk away or take space from the person or situation entirely.
Protect your peace today and every day because you are worthy of feeling good. You now have many tools to pull from to live in a state of gratitude and appreciation for your life.
The Practice | Self-Kindness
This week, I offer you a quick but effective, at-home gentle yoga practice to start your day or shift your back into your body and out of the busy, thinking mind.
Take a few moments to slow down and reconnect. List ways you can be kinder to yourself, especially during stressful times.
How can you implement these acts of self-compassion in your daily life?
Whenever you catch yourself in negative self-talk, pause and replace those thoughts with kind and encouraging words.
Affirmations like “I am doing my best” or “I am worthy of love and respect” can be powerful.
Prioritize activities that recharge and nurture you, whether it’s taking a walk in nature, meditating, or simply enjoying a favorite hobby.
Consistent self-care reinforces your worthiness of care and compassion and helps strengthen your trust muscle. I’m proud of you. I hope you are proud of you.
If you are still thinking about starting your practice, let this be your green light to start – for you.
